Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has approved the appointment of 12 new Permanent Secretaries (PMs) despite controversy surrounding his recent appointment of 1,192 additional aides. The appointees were chosen based on merit, fairness, and justice principles.
The newly appointed permanent secretaries are expected to meet expectations in their roles and demonstrate utmost loyalty, dedication, and integrity. However, the opposition has criticized the governor’s appointments, describing them as a misplaced priority.
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) chieftain, David Ijele, faulted the incumbent administration, stating that the appointments were meant to employ youths to be used as thugs. Ijele insisted that the Supreme Court would rule in favor of the SDP candidate, Yakubu Ajaka, in the party’s legal battle against the incumbent administration.
