Kogi Poly rector threatens to blacklist erring contractors

Acting Rector of Kogi State polytechnic, Dr Salisu Usman, has advised contractors handling various projects at the Polytechnic, Lokoja, to maintain the highest standards in the execution of the contracts to avoid being blacklisted by the institution.

The Acting Rector  gave the advice in Lokoja during the presentation of contract award letters to contractors at the end of a competitive bidding process for seven Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) projects to be executed for the institution.

Usman stressed that the era of abandoned projects had gone forever and advised the contractors to comply strictly with the bill of quantities to avoid a face-off with the management.

Reacting to the rate of abandoned projects dotting the polytechnic campus, the Rector vowed to change the narrative, saying the institution “must have value for every kobo spent for the benefit of humanity and the institution. ”

He explained that the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) had been magnanimous with the school by approving the construction of seven legacy projects aimed at enhancing teaching, learning and urged the contractors to exhibit the highest level of professionalism in the execution of the projects.
