In a significant milestone, Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, Kogi State, has received full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) for 11 of its academic programmes.
The accredited programmes include Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Mathematics, and Statistics, as well as Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, and Information Technology. According to the Registrar of CUSTECH, Olufunke Hudson, “The full accreditation status highlights the university’s dedication to upholding excellence.”
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Abdulrahman Salawu expressed delight over the feat, saying, “We are delighted to have obtained full accreditation for all programmes tendered for evaluation, which serves as evidence of the commitment and effort put forth by our staff and students.”
He added that the university is keeping pace with its academic development plans, having forwarded applications for the establishment of six more programmes to NUC for approval.
These new programmes, which include Medicine, Physiotherapy, and Radiography, as well as Law, Agriculture, and Agricultural Engineering, are set to commence in the 2024/2025 academic session.
The proposed teaching hospital facility for clinical training is already operational, according to Prof. Salawu.
Registrar Hudson described the accreditation success as an accomplishment that showcases the institution’s unwavering dedication to excellence and commitment to students with a top-tier education.

Additionally, NUC has approved eight new programmes, including Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Marine Engineering, and Petroleum and Gas Engineering, among others.
These programmes are now available on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Central Admissions Processing System for prospective candidates.
