The prosecution led by Isaac Yakub, ASP, told the court that Happiness had lured Mojisola from Offa to Ilorin on the pretext of attending a joint sign-out party, but instead killed her in a hotel room and made off with her phone and money.

The court heard that Happiness’s parents, Adebayo Adeniyi and Bukola Adeniyi, and an accomplice, Timileyin Kolawole, were also involved in the crime, with the mother assisting in removing the sim card from the victim’s phone and hiding it, while the father helped keep the phone in a family car.

The defense counsel pleaded for bail, but the prosecutor opposed it, citing the seriousness of the crime. The chief magistrate, Wahab Saka, ordered the remand of the suspects at the Federal Correctional Centre, Oke Kura, Ilorin, and adjourned the case till September 12, 2024.
