Lagos BRT/Train Crash Is Sad, Distressing – Buhari Reacts

President Muhammadu Buhari has described Thursday’s accident in Lagos State involving a train and the state government BRT staff bus as distressing and extremely sad.

The President who expressed his sadness in a statement by his senior special assistant on media and publicity, Garba Shehu prayed for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives and the quick recovery of those injured in the accident.

The President also commended the Lagos State authorities and Federal Government agencies for promptly getting involved in relief work.

“The accident at the level crossing involving the train and the BRT staff bus is distressing and extremely sad. I pray for the souls of the deceased and quick recovery of the many who were injured,” he said in the statement.

Frank Talk Now had earlier reported that a moving train collided with a Lagos State government staff bus on Thursday morning, with six persons confirmed dead and several others seriously injured.

The train which was coming into Lagos from Abeokuta rammed into the BRT bus, conveying some civil servants to their workplaces in Ikeja, the state capital.

The injured victims are receiving treatment at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Ikeja.
