The Lagos State Examinations Board has announced postponed the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) earlier fixed for Wednesday, 1st June to Wednesday, 8th June 2022.
A statement issued by the director, Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Supo Gbadegesin said that the BECE has been rescheduled to commence from Wednesday, 8th June to Wednesday, 15th June 2022 in the respective schools of the candidates.
He also stated that as of Tuesday, 31st May 2022, most of the Public Junior Secondary Schools have got their Optical Marks Readers Sheet. Adding that most registered Approved Private Junior Secondary Schools are yet to upload the bio-data of their candidates which caused the delay in the printing of their OMR Sheets.

In the same vein, the director informed that it is pertinent to shift the dates of the examinations in order to accommodate other schools that have been unable to upload the data of their candidates into the Board’s database in order not to deny these students the opportunity to write the examinations.
Mr. Gbadegesin also noted that the postponement would further enable the Board to address some unforeseen logistical problems that arose towards the commencement of the examination.
The Board, therefore, solicited the understanding of all stakeholders and assured all concerned schools that the NEW DATES remain sacrosanct.
