Lagos introduces online payment, registration for 2023 BECE


The Lagos State Government has introduced Online Payment and Registration for Year 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and Placement Test by Continuous Assessment Scores (CAS).

This was contained in a statement signed yesterday by Director, Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Orunsolu Adebayo informing the general public, approved private schools and schools with special permissions that the mode of payment and registration will be online processes.

According to the director, he said that this is in line with the Lagos State Government policy at ensuring seamless and stress free payment and access to Government services in the State.

He hinted that the process will be availabke through a self-service platform, adding that School Owners would not be required to come physically to the Examination Board for either payment or registration.

Orunsolu stressed further that this process would afford every school to create the Login Account to generate their Unique Identity Number (ID) and Personalized Identification Number (PIN) by using the Link:

He urged the Schools to adhere strictly to the guidelines and procedures for the payment and registration as stated on the Portal.

Further to this, he stated that the Registration has already commenced and late registration would attract additional penalty after the expiration date of the registration.

He also stressed that only Primary 6 (Six) Pupils of both Public and Private Schools are eligible for the Placement Test adding that only duly registered JSS3 students would be allowed to sit for BECE.


Mr. Orunsolu remarked that the Online Payment and Registration for the examinations is to ensure a hitch free process.

He noted that Schools with Special Candidates of Visual Challenges/ Albinos should inform the Lagos State Examinations Board in a separate letter to facilitate adequate preparations for such Candidates during the examination.

He added that the Circulars that contain details information about the mode ot Payment and Registration for the two Examinations would be availed to schools through their LED/ZONAL OFFICERS.
