Director-General, Office of Education Quality Assurance, Mrs Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, has solicited the cooperation of all stakeholders in curbing the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the State as schools reopen.
Seriki-Ayeni affirmed that the safety of all children, teachers and the general public is a priority, saying the government has observed the high compliance of schools except for few that indulge in the illegal opening without concern for the health and safety of their pupils.

According to her, to ensure compliance, the Office Monitoring and Investigation team will embark on compliance monitoring exercises across the State to ensure schools adhere strictly to the safety directives issued by the government to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
She added that the Agency is also working to launch the ‘Lagos Learns Together Initiative’ to prompt home learning for parents and guardians, ensure support for students by teachers and create new learning models by schools, adding that its evaluators will continue to ensure strict compliance by private schools to directives of the state government with regards to closing down schools to protect learners from the ravaging pandemic.
