The Lagos State Government has swiftly responded to the case of Bunmi Ojo, whose story was published by FTN last week.
The family and concerned individuals are expressing their gratitude for the government’s prompt action.
Following the viral post, a meeting was held between the family and the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) team.
During the meeting, LASUTH provided a detailed account of the treatment Bunmi received while in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and their efforts to save her life.
They also took the opportunity to explain the functioning of the ICU, ensuring that they are equipped to handle emergencies effectively.One crucial takeaway from the meeting was the importance of having medical insurance.
Lagos State offers a health insurance scheme, which requires only a payment of N 15,000 for an entire year.

This scheme aims to provide support to the vulnerable population, and it is believed that raising awareness about this initiative is essential.
FTN gathered from those concerned about Bunmi’s case that during their meeting with the hospital, the circumstances surrounding Bunmi’s case were discussed.
Her oldest son, accompanied by her younger brother, was said to be present at the meeting to provide further insight.
The management of LASUTH and the Lagos State Ministry of Health were commended for their compassionate intervention and resolution of the matter.
However, this incident has shed light on a critical issue affecting millions of people like Bunmi in Nigeria.
“The question of how to provide qualitative and affordable medical care to the vulnerable in society was raised, leaving everyone with a pressing concern.
“The family and supporters expressed their gratitude to all those who showed concern and support.
“Bunmi’s body will be released to the family this week, and they hope her beautiful, loving, and caring soul may rest in peace,” a member of the Concerned Parents and Educators Network posted on the group Facebook channel on Sunday.
