The Department of Mass Communication at Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has taken a bold step in the fight against sexual harassment and domestic violence by raising awareness and sensitizing students on the importance of speaking out against these heinous crimes.
According to the Head of Department, Dr. Steven Anu’ Adesemoye, “Silence is not an option” in the fight against sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). He charged students to speak out against any form of sexual and gender-based violence and emphasized the department’s commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for all students to share their experiences, speak out, and seek help when needed.
The department, through a series of events, innovations, and campaigns, aims to educate students on the devastating effects of sexual harassment and domestic violence and empower them to become advocates for change.
