Police have arrested a suspicious man after he sparked a fire outside Buckingham Palace.
Dramatic footage shows the blaze outside the front gates of King Charles’ home.
Two police offers grounded the 30-year-old to restrain him. He was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage.
Witnesses of the incident said the police officers arrived ‘within seconds’ of the blaze starting
The incident took place this evening Tuesday, December, 20, at 10.08pm.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: ‘Shortly after 22.08hrs on Tuesday, 20 December, a 30-year-old man , was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage after a small fire was seen near the Buckingham Palace gates.
‘The man has been taken into custody. The fire has been extinguished.’
