The Benue state government has criticized the presidency for airing the dirty laundry of Reverend Father Mbaka, spiritual director of the Adoration Ministry (AMEN).

Recall that the presidency, represented by presidential spokesman Garba Shehu had earlier on Friday night, accused Mbaka of attempting to leverage his support for Buhari to obtain contracts.

According to a statement released by Terver Akase, the spokesperson of Governor Ortom, the Benue government has accused Garba Shehu of publishing a press release without the President’s knowledge.

“We are convinced that Mr President was not aware that his aide Shehu made such a statement on his behalf. It is clear that the media aide didn’t speak for the President in the said statement. President Buhari wouldn’t have given approval for such a reckless and insensitive press release,” he said.

Akase also accused Shehu of supporting “killer herdsmen”, adding that the presidential spokesman’s refusal to condemn the criminal activities of such herders shows complicity.
