The National Hospital, Abuja has confirmed the death of a professor of infectious disease, Lovett Lawson. The hospital spokesman, Dr. Tayo Haastrup, made the confirmation in Abuja on Monday.
The Professor of tropical medicine reportedly died of complications from COVID-19. He was said to have been in quarantine at the National Hospital before his death.

Lawson, a graduate of the University of Lagos, got his Ph.D from the University of Liverpool. Until his death, he chaired the Board of Directors of a medical Centre in Abuja.
