Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina,  has described individuals who think the Buhari-led administration is doing little to address insecurity in the country  as “pitiable and wretched souls.”

In an article titled, “See how they are being sent to God to answer for their misdeeds,” Adesina faulted  those who feel the war on insecurity is selective, claiming that the fervor employed in the fight in the south is not the same as that used in the north. He detailed the steps taken by the Buhari administration to address insecurity.

The article read, ”It amazes, even confounds, to hear some people say President Muhammadu Buhari should go after Boko Haram terrorists and bandits with the same gusto he has displayed against separatists in the country.

“Amazing and confounding because what the Buhari government does daily in the North-east, North-west, and North-central parts of the country, where terrorists and bandits abound, is send them to God to answer for their crimes.

“This much has been confirmed by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya.
Hear the Army Chief, on the day he was decorated with his new rank: “That’s what we have started doing already. Many of them have been sent to God to answer for their crimes, and we will continue to do that.” President Buhari had instructed security forces to apprehend all violent criminals and insurgents in the country, promising that they would be dealt with “in the language they understand.”

“And it’s taking place without permission or hindrance, fear or favour.

“Why do some individuals claim that certain of the country’s troublemakers are being treated with softer hands than others? This could be the result of willful ignorance, malice, or outright hatred. Those who pay close attention to the struggle against insurgency and banditry in the country’s north would concede that no quarter is being asked for, and none is being granted. Every attempt is being made to eradicate evil from our political system.”
