The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero, on Thursday, arrived at the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) office in Abuja to honour the Police invitation over alleged terrorism financing, treason, and other charges.

Ajaero, who was accompanied by human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN), arrived at the Police facility around 10:20 am. The NLC had earlier directed its members to embark on a nationwide solidarity march on Thursday as its President appears before the Nigeria Police Force for interrogation.

The Labour members started converging at the NLC headquarters as early as 8:00 am, and a heavy presence of police operatives has been stationed a few meters away from the NLC building to prevent a breakdown of law and order.

“We are here to show solidarity with our President, Joe Ajaero, who has been invited by the Police over alleged terrorism financing and other charges,” said one of the NLC members.
