Home General and News updates Notorious Bandit Leader Behind Abduction Of 121 Students In Kaduna Killed
Kachalla Tukur Sharme, a notorious bandit leader, has been killed in a violent conflict with a rival gang in Kaduna State. Sharme was responsible for multiple attacks, killings, and kidnappings in the region, including the abduction of 121 students from Bethel Baptist High School in 2021.
The Kaduna State government confirmed that Sharme and two other criminals were killed in a deadly shootout, which allowed some kidnapped individuals to escape. The fight occurred over the weekend in the Rijana and Kaso Forests, which cover parts of Kachia, Chikun, and Kajuru local government areas.
Samuel Aruwan, Minister of Internal Security and Home Affairs, stated that five criminals were wounded in the fight and are hiding in the area, seeking medical help for their injuries.
Sharme had previously killed many people, abducted hundreds, and stolen countless herds of cattle. He had often narrowly escaped capture by security forces and remained a target before being shot dead by rival terrorists.
The State government has urged residents not to render any assistance to suspicious persons seeking treatment for gun wounds and to contact the nearest security forces or reach the Kaduna State Security Operations Room.
