Ogun NSCDC Nabs Four Suspected Vandals, Recovers Millions Worth of Electricity Cables

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ogun State apprehended four suspected vandals, recovering electricity cables valued  millions of naira. 

 

The State Commandant, David Ojelabi, showcased the suspects, including Ojuolape Olaitan, 36, who confessed to vandalizing Federal Government-owned electricity cables in Imomo Community, Ijebu North-East Local Government Area.
Olaitan was found with bundles of vandalized transmission cable and a Toyota Camry used in the crime.
In addition, a trio of suspected vandals, Sanni Mohammed Aliu, Aliu Mohammed, and Arowona Azeez, were caught stealing, possessing, and tampering with vandalized cables.
 The NSCDC Commandant disclosed the recovery of vandalized Armoured Cable and a Lagos-registered vehicle.

The Commandant emphasized that the suspects would face appropriate charges in court, reinforcing the NSCDC’s zero-tolerance stance on vandalism.
He urged the public to exercise caution, warning that the law would take its course against vandals, emphasizing the need to safeguard public properties.
“The suspects will be duly and appropriately charged to court for prosecution.
“ The NSCDC has zero tolerance for all forms of vandalism, once you are caught the law will take it course so parent, religious leaders and others should warn their ward. We must safeguard all these properties because they are for our use”.
