NYSC Trust Fund Bill to Provide Jobs for Graduates – Adaramodu

Yemi Adaramodu, the chairman of the Senate Committee on Youth and Community Engagement, has stated that the recently passed National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Trust Fund Bill will create job opportunities for graduates.

Adaramodu made this known during an official visit to the Oyo State NYSC Orientation Camp in Iseyin, where he led a delegation of the committee on Saturday.

He explained that the bill, which has passed first and second readings and other legislative stages, will soon be sent to the President for assent.

According to Adaramodu, the primary aim of the bill is to ensure that NYSC corps members are empowered through the skills acquired from the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme.

He further stated that the bill includes provisions to support corps members interested in starting businesses after completing their service year.

 

Adaramodu expressed confidence that the bill would address issues of unemployment and provide a clear path for corps members’ future endeavors.

 

He emphasized that the bill aims to turn the dreams of every Nigerian graduate into reality.

 

Additionally, Adaramodu revealed that the Senate, in collaboration with relevant government departments, agencies, and stakeholders, will soon review the allowances of corps members upwards.
