Olubadan of Ibadanland laid to rest

On Friday afternoon, the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland was laid to rest in the ancestral house of his family, Aliwo.

 

Following a brief illness, the late monarch, who ruled for two years, passed away at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, on Thursday night at the age of 81. He then joined his forefathers.

Before the late king was taken into custody, the Muslim faithful were led in prayer by Alhaji Abdulganiyu Agbotomokekere, the Chief Imam of Ibadanland.

The junior brother of the dead, Kola Balogun, Elder Wole Oyelese, Alhaji Daud Akinola, and Bayo Lawal, the deputy governor of Oyo State, who oversaw executive branch officials, were among the dignitaries present at the event.
