Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has departed Italy for Turkey to complete his loan switch from Napoli to Galatasaray, bringing an end to the prolonged transfer saga.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed Osimhen’s trip, stating, “Victor Osimhen’s private flight, on its way to Istanbul right now.” This development follows Napoli’s approval of Osimhen’s season-long loan after a tumultuous period between the club and the player.
Osimhen had submitted a transfer request to Napoli ahead of the summer, attracting interest from top European clubs. However, negotiations stalled due to Napoli’s asking price and Osimhen’s wages. Chelsea and Al-Ahli pressed on for Osimhen’s signature until the end of the transfer window on August 30, but failed to agree on the monetary aspects of the deal.

Following the collapse of the transfer, Napoli excluded Osimhen from the squad and reportedly demoted him to the under-23 team. The 25-year-old Nigeria international will now continue playing football with Galatasaray, away from Napoli, where he has a contract until June 30, 2026.
As recalled, Osimhen’s transfer saga has been one of the most drawn-out in the 2024 transfer period. However, with his loan move to Galatasaray, the striker can now focus on his football career.
