The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress on Monday alleged that members of the party at Isolo-Ijesa were attacked by hoodlums working for the Peoples Democratic Party.

This was contained in a statement by the acting state chairman of the party, Mr. Tajudeen Lawal, who said some hoodlums working for the PDP at Isolo-Ijesa attacked members of APC and inflicted injuries on them.

Lawal also said the “perpetrators of the crime have chased all the APC members and supporters away from Isolo-Ijesa and Ila-Ijesa,” adding a member of the opposition party, Adedeji Adewale, was accosted on the way to his farm and inflicted with matchet cuts by the attackers.

The APC boss further said, “The state Commissioner of Police and the state Director of the State Security (DSS) must come to the aid of the members and supporters of the APC in the Atakumosa-West Local Government Council Area of the state in particular and the state in general.

“APC under my leadership in the state would not watch helplessly while members and supporters are being needlessly attacked by the PDP thugs.”

But when contacted for a reaction, the Director of Media of Osun PDP, Oladele Olabamiji, said the ruling party was busy with matters relating to the administration of the state and would not be involved in violent acts.

He said, “The APC should not drag us into their internal crises. It is not hidden from the public that the party is divided. They should not get us involved in whatever issue they have in their party. PDP is not involved and will never perpetrate any act of violence. They should look elsewhere for who to allege.”
