Barely 48 hours after the announcement of ultimatum for looters to return the properties carted away during the destructive invasion and looting spree in Osun State, the state government has recovered a considerable amount of looted materials.
This followed the recovery effort of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, who had presented looters with a choice of amnesty or legal action during the on-the-spot assessment of the vandalised facilities across the state.
Part of the properties recovered so far, according to the governement include motorcycles, electronics and electrical appliances, heavy-duty equipment and machineries, home appliances and ICT equipment.
The state government said efforts at recovering the stolen properties of government and private businesses within a short period of time lends credence to the Oyetola administration’s commitment to ensuring economic recovery of the State of Osun as well the safety of lives and properties of the people.
