Oyedepo advises Nigerians to vote wisely in forthcoming general elections

The Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Ogun State, Bishop David Oyedepo, has advised Nigerians to vote wisely and their conscience in the forthcoming general elections in order to secure the future of the coming generation.

Oyedepo gave the advice during a 3-day fasting and prayer for Nigeria for a hitch-free general elections on Thursday in Ota,Ogun.

He said that the advice had become necessary as the next general election is just a few days away,adding that we believe God for a crisis-free general election.

Oyedepo, also the Chancellor of Covenant University,OTA, urged Nigerians to consider the capacity and character of every contestants before one decides who to cast his vote for.

He said that we should only be convinced by the records of what the contestant might have done in time past, as contained in his or her service records.

Oyedepo noted that there were no political parties nor tribes without men and women with the required capacity and character to lead the nation.

He added that there are no political parties or tribes without incompetent and character-deficient individuals.

“There are no indecent tribes, but there are indecent people, and they are in every tribe, religion, and political party.

“While, there are no greedy religions, but there are greedy people, and they are found in every religion.

“There are no evil tribes but there are evil men, and they are in every tribe.

“Also, there are no evil political parties but there are evil men and women, and they are in every political party.

“In addition,there are no tribes without wicked people but there are no tribes without compassionate and caring individuals.

“There are no evil religions, but there are evil men, and they are in every religion, just that the rate may differ.”Oyedepo said.

The chancellor stressed that Nigerians in every political party, tribe and religion, should rise up to the occasion and flush out the wicked among them, so as to secure the great future of our children and the posterity of our great nation.

He opined that democracy provided an open access for any candidate from any political party, tribe or religion notwithstanding.

Oyedepo said that it would be undemocratic for any region or tribe to think that presidency is their birthright.

He prayed that God should see the nation through a most peaceful and bloodless election, free from all post election uproars and restore the peace, prosperity and dignity of our great nation, as an aftermath of this forthcoming election.
