The Bauchi police command has arrested one Manu Dushi, an 18-year old suspected armed kidnapper in Alkaleri LGA of the state.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Ahmed Wakil, Bauchi police public relations officer (PPRO), said Manu was part of a seven-man group, with six of the co-suspects still at large.

Wakin said in December 2020, the suspects had schemed and raided Jamaare-Kazaure village in Alkaleri LGA, and kidnapped one Yau Sambo, a resident of Bangaji village, and detained him at an area near the border of Bauchi and Taraba states.
