The National Youth Service Corps has stated that it would prosecute authors of the fake press release making rounds over a glitch that occurred on Saturday, June 8, regarding its registration portal.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the NYSC Director of Information and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, the registration portal for Batch B prospective corps was closed after reaching the maximum number of registrations required for the incoming batch.

The NYSC apologised to prospective corps members who could not register before the portal was shut down, assuring them that the portal would reopen for Batch B Stream II on a date to be announced later.

It also debunked a fake press release circulating online, which claimed that the registration deadline had been extended.

Registration by prospective corps members continued until the maximum number required for the incoming batch was reached, in line with the carrying capacity of the 37 NYSC Orientation Camps nationwide.
