President Buhari Re-appoints Ajiboye As TRCN Registrar

Professor Segun Ajiboye has been re-appointed for another five years as Chief Executive/Registrar of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) by President Muhammadu Buhari.

It was gathered that TRCN is the regulatory body that regulates the teaching profession in the country.

Ajiboye was appointed five years ago by Buhari to head the council.

Ajiboye until his appointment was a lecturer at the University of Ibadan in Oyo State.

It was reported on Wednesday that Ajiboye received his reappointment letter through the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Architect Sunday Echono.

Ajiboye, who spoke after receiving his letter, thanked Buhari for the confidence reposed in him.

Ajiboye, who stated the reward for hard work is more work, maintained that he would continue to reposition the teaching profession to global standards.

He spoke further by saying that he would pursue, in the next five years, improvement in the welfare of teachers in Nigeria and deepen the deployment of technology in teaching.

He added that teachers’ welfare and technology in the teaching profession will be pursued vigorously in the next five years.

He also promised to deepen professionalism in the teaching profession.

Ajiboye said, “I want to thank Mr President for the confidence reposed in me to be reappointed. The president has thrown another challenge at me to translate the vision to action.

“Together with my team in TRCN, we shall deliver. In the next five years, teachers’ welfare and technology in the teaching profession will be pursued.

“We shall deepen professionalism in the teaching profession to ensure that the Nigerian teaching profession continues to rank among the best in the world”.
