The African Director, International Association of World Peace Advocates, Johnny Metchie, has condemned the culture of public display of ill-gotten wealth by some public officials and privileged members of society despite grinding poverty in the land.

He said it was particularly condemnable when such wealth was obtained from Nigerians’ common patrimony.

Metchie, who is also the Prime Minister of Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU), spoke Thursday while receiving an honorary Doctorate award in Philanthropic Management bestowed on him by the Theological University College and Seminary, Abuja.
