Reacting to the report, the Centre for Anti-Corruption and Open Leadership described the spending as “profligacy” and “misappropriation of funds,” noting that the office of the First Lady is not recognized by the constitution.

The group’s Executive Director, Debo Adeniran, called for Nigerians to speak out against the government’s frivolous spending and demanded that the National Assembly perform its oversight functions to curb such excesses.
