The Lagos State University has called on fast-rising Nigerian songster, Ahmed Akinbiyi, popularly known as Bella Shmurda, to return to class and earn his degree.
This comes shortly after the singer boasted about leaving and gaining prominence in his musical career.
On Wednesday, the Cash App crooner took to his Twitter page to announce that he was currently worth over 550 million views from his songs.
“I now worth over half a billion streams
(550 millions streams to be precise)
“I for still dey LASU dey wine and dine with carry overs and stranded with nothing in my pocket. Forever glad I did my thing,” he tweeted.
Replying to the singer via its official Twitter page on Friday, which was a day after the singer’s birthday, congratulated him on his achievement but urged him to get his degree.
Using the handle @LASUOfficial, the institution said, “Happy birthday @fineboybella. Glad you have come this far pursuing your dream. Also glad @LASUOfficial played a part in your beautiful story because University don’t make people rich, only incubate them to find and achieve purpose. BTW, please come back to class and earn your degree.”
On the singer’s birthday on Thursday, Bella Shmurda revealed the story behind his birth, as narrated to him by his mother.
He also announced that beginning from this year’s birthday, he has vowed to feed one thousand people in the Ojo community, where he grew up.
