Former Military Administrator of Rivers State, Brigadier-General Anthony Ukpo has died.
It was gathered that Ukpo, who hailed from Yala LGA in Cross River State, died on Monday morning after a prolonged illness.

Secretary of the Ogoja State Creation Committee which was chaired by Ukpo, Leonard Anyogu, confirmed the death.
Anyogu disclosed that Ukpo, who was also the Information Minister during the regime of Gen Ibrahim Babangida, died in a hospital.
“I can confirm that the former Milad died this morning. He died in a hospital this morning. It is very sad. Cross River State has lost an asset,” Anyogo said.
