The Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum has condemned the Friday’s mass kidnap of students  of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara in Katsina State, the home state of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Gunmen had attacked the school and kidnapped an unspecified number of students shortly after the President arrived Daura, his home town, for a week-long private visit.

The State Police command said it had rescued no fewer than 200 students of the school after the attack.

SMBLF in a statement on Saturday said the mass kidnap bore similar imprints with the Chibok incident of 2014 which became a serious political weapon for political power grabbers who lied about change.

It said: “That a military formation is also around the Katsina  school like Chibok and was unable to prevent this again raises the strong factor of conspiracy.

“We feel for these young people who to no fault of theirs are being used for all these mad schemes that is not difficult to see through as we know that that this on the long run too will be exposed for what it is -pure and applied sham.

“The security system that cannot stop all this nonsense is totally useless and totally unfit.”
