The chairman of the newly inaugurated Sokoto Security Community Guards, Col. Garba Moyi (retd), on Saturday resigned his appointment.
Moyi, a three term Commissioner for Security in the state disclosed this while addressing newsmen at the Nigerian Union of Journalist, Press centre, Sokoto.
Speaking while addressing newsmen, the retired colonel said he decided to resign his appointment following social media post which he said was targeted at his personality.
“I served the country till I retired as a Colonel after which I joined politics to serve as the chairman of my local government.
“I also serve as the state commissioner for security on three different occasions until I resigned during the past administration without any blemish”
“It is however unfortunate that some people can doctored video and start circulating on social media to tarnish my image, I think the best is for me to resigned the appointment”
He however commended the state governor, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, for finding him worthy of the assignment in the first time.
