According to NASU national president Makolo Hassan, the protests were non-negotiable. He stated on Monday that both unions were determined to proceed with the demonstrations as the federal government had not addressed their demands following a warning strike conducted several months ago.

At Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, Kaduna state, non-academic staff members carried placards with various inscriptions as they marched around the campus.

They called on the federal government to release their withheld salaries and fulfill their other outstanding demands.
