Jerry Springer, the famous talk show host, has passed away at the age of 79, according to a statement from his family.

TMZ reports that a statement confirmed that he passed away peacefully in his home in Chicago after being diagnosed with cancer a few months ago.

Jerry Springer was known for his ability to connect with people, which was the foundation of his success in various fields including broadcasting, and politics.

In a statement, the family spokesperson, Jene Galvin, expressed that Jerry was irreplaceable, and his loss is deeply felt. However, his intellect, heart, and humor will live on through cherished memories.

Jerry Springer hosted “The Jerry Springer Show,” a hugely popular syndicated talk show, for 27 years, captivating American audiences with wild and raucous moments that often involved outrageous guests getting into fights.

His audience would cheer him on, making his name a household one.

Before his fame as a talk show host, Jerry Springer made an unsuccessful bid for US Congress in 1970.

He later became a member of Cincinnati’s City Council in 1971, and later went on to serve as the mayor of the city for a single term starting in 1977. Following his stint in politics, Jerry became a news anchor and commentator at WLWT in Ohio before venturing into talk show hosting in 1991 with the launch of his famous series.
