American rapper Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons has passed away at age 50, his family confirmed.
The rapper who passed away at White Plains hospital was on life support for the past few days, after suffering from a heart attack last week at his New York home.
‘X’ was said to have been taken to the hospital following a reported drug overdose and subsequent heart attack last week, and was unconscious for about 30 minutes before been submitted to the hospital, which may have resulted in brain damage as a result of lack of oxygen during that time.
Before his death, he was undoubtedly one of the biggest rappers to have ever graced the Hip Hop stage and has enjoyed a successful career and sold millions of copies of his albums since his breakthrough into the global stage.
However, the legendary rapper was not just into music, as he has featured in some Hollywood movies during his career.

1. Cradle 2 the Grave (2003)
He appeared alongside Jet Li, Anthony Anderson and Gabriel Union.

2. Belly (1998)
The rappers starred alongside fellow rapper Nas in the movie directed by Hype Williams.
3. Romeo Must Die (2000)
The late rapper featured alongside late singer Aaliyah and martial arts actor Jet Li.
He played a nightclub owner called Silk in the movie.
4. Exit wounds (2001)
The legendary rapper appeared in the movie alongside Steven Seagal, Isaiah Washington and Anthony Anderson.
He played a drug dealer called Latrell Walker.
5. Fresh off the Boat
X appeared as himself in an episode of the season 2 series “Fresh Off the Boat”.
