Tinubu donates N50m to victims of Katsina Central Market fire

A national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, has donated N50m to victims of Katsina Central Market fire.

He said the donation is to compensate the traders for their losses and help them to rebuild the market.

Tinubu was in Katsina on Wednesday and was received by the state governor, Aminu Masari.

He was taken round the razed market by the governor and also paid a courtesy call on the Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumini Usman.

Commiserating with the victims of the inferno, Tinubu encouraged the traders not to lose sight of the bigger pictures despite the tragedy.

No fewer than 700 shops and stalls were razed in a Monday morning fire incident that ravaged the Katsina Central Market.

Goods worth billions of naira worth were also burnt and stolen in the looting that followed the unfortunate incident.
