Tope Alabi: Her Academic Journey

The ace gospel musician, Tope Alabi has over the years stood out in the gospel music industry despite a lot of singers that the industry has produced over the years.

Tope Alabi is known for her unique voice and style of worshipping God in her local Yoruba dialect and her music has remained appealing and inspiring to people in Nigeria and across the world for over a decade.

The Kokoro Igbala composer has won several awards for her music trade. In this article, her educational background would be discussed.

The singer had her primary and secondary education in Ibadan, at the Akinyele Memorial High School. She then sat for and obtained her WAEC Certificate in 1986 before she went ahead into The Polytechnic Ibadan, where she studied Mass Communication and graduated in the year 1990.

Tope discovered her flair for music and drama so she decided to pursue it between 1982 and 1984 that made her joined the group called “Jesters International”, before leaving for “Alade Aromire Theatre Group” in 1994 where she obtained her training in Yoruba drama and practiced professionally afterward.

However, she had featured in some movies before exploring her talent of singing which enabled her wrote and sang several soundtracks for movies in the industry after which she switched finally to doing gospel music. She is happily married to a husband and blessed with two daughters and a son.
