The Ekiti State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the gruesome murder of a woman, Arinola Kumapayi, who was stabbed to death by her husband on Friday night, April 26, 2024, at her residence in the Adebayo area of Ado-Ekiti.
According to Ayomide Kumapayi, the younger brother of the deceased, who spoke to FTN correspondent said the husband is unknown to the family, had been absent for years and had abandoned Arinola.
He said the husband returned and accused her of infidelity, leading to a violent confrontation that ended in her tragic death.
According to him, “My sister Arinola Kumapayi was stabbed by her unknown husband because he’s unknown to our family.
“This incident happened on Friday night exactly 10pm 26 of April 2024.before the incident happened, the kids and my cousin named Israel kumapayi who went to my sister’s house for weekend holiday were at home before the husband sent them an errand to get pour water and sweet.
“When the kids arrived they found out that the door was locked so they went to peep at the window side to see why they’re nt answering.

“The kids found their mother in the pool of blood and they started shouting for help. This scene happened at adebayo area Ado ekiti.
This happened because my sister is not interested in any affair with the husband because they are not yet married and he has abandoned her for years now.”
Meanwhile, Police spokesman in the state, DSP Sunday Abutu, confirmed on Sunday at Ado-Ekiti.
