Tragedy As Lagos Socialite Dies Day Friend Is Laid To Rest

A bosom friend of Lagos socialite and foremost showbiz promoter, late Dotun Olaribigbe (aka Lobito Disco), Ade Kassim (aka Kas Chicken) died Thursday, the day Lobito Disco was laid to rest.

According to a Facebook source and friend of the deceased,@mazi Abe, Adebayo Kassim has raised the sum of N13m for the Lobito family and has planned to hand over the money to the family after the burial ceremony. Unfortunately, he didn’t live to fulfil his promise to the Olaribigbe family.

On Wednesday, July 27, the service of songs/wake was held at the First Baptist Church, Broad Street, Lagos, while the burial ceremony was conducted Thursday, July 28 with interment at Ebony Vaults & Gardens, Ikoyi, Lagos according to the burial arrangement given by the Olaribigbe family.

The source writes, “Surulere has lost yet another Legend. The great Adebayo Kassim (Ade Kas).”First Lobito (Mellow) now, AdeKas (Kas Chicken)” The irony is, up till yesterday, Ade had raised over N13m in memory of his childhood friend and Mentor, Lobito.

“The plan was for Ade and selected friends to hand the raised cash over to Lobito’s wife and children, later today after the burial.

“Alas, Lobito was laid to rest today. Ade passed away, today.

“Adebayo, my childhood friend, sun re o 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Hmmmmmmm. Olò’un níkán lo ye…”

“The cause of the death was not stated nor hinted at the time, Ade Kassim passed on.”

Late Ade Kassim owned Kas Chicken, though packed up now but was a foremost quick service restaurant on Allen Avenue in Ikeja and Ishaga in Surulere areas of Lagos many years ago.

Before the foremost fast food eatery collapsed, so much in demand was the QSR that the eatery was the toast of the mighty and affluent in society, from the very top of the military hierarchy to the civil society.
