Two Southern Governors That Were Absent From The Meeting In Lagos

The Southern Governors Forum, on Monday, held its meeting in Lagos State, the second in almost two months.

At the end of the meeting, several issues of national importance were addressed which was released as in a communique which was read by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, on behalf of the other fourteen southern governors present.

However, while going through the pictures of the southern governors, Frank Talk Now found that they were fifteen instead of seventeen. Those governors who were not physically present deemed it fit to send their deputy to represent them, like the governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, whose vice was conspicuous on the picture with other governors. Interestingly, Governor Willie Obiano and Governor Ben Ayade of Anambra and Cross Rivers States respectively were obviously absent at the meeting.

As of the time of writing this report, no reason has been given for the absence of the two governors whose states have been facing serious security challenges for some time now.

Meanwhile, several national issues that bordered on presidential power rotation, insecurity, true federalism among others were addressed at the end of the meeting.
