The University of Abuja’s (UniAbuja) Centre for Entrepreneurship Development in collaboration with two other bodies has secured N2.6 billion grant.
A terse post shared on the verified Facebook page of the University on Saturday, said the grant was secured from Germany.
It reads : “We are excited to announce that the UofA (University of Abuja) Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, in collaboration with the ACCT Best Centre and Innovo and Crescentia Limited, has been awarded a significant grant of N2.6 billion (€ 3 million) by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (G I Z).
“The grant is to facilitate the establishment of a Digital Innovation Hub (D I E) to provide a one-stop-shop for MSMEs in the North-Central Zone to digitally transform their operations and enhance their competitiveness.
” G I Z is widely recognised for its commitment to supporting innovative initiatives and organisation striving to bring about positive change.”
It was gathered that scholars from the university had last year secured over a billion Naira as research grants and other academic awards.
