The Governing Council of the University of Uyo has approved the appointment of Professor Nyaudoh Ukpabio Ndaeyo as the 8th substantive Vice Chancellor of the University.
Ndaeyo, a Professor of Farming Systems, is to take over from a Professor of Law and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Enefiok Essien, whose tenure ends December, 2020.
This was the decision of the Governing Council of the University during its Special Meeting held on Tuesday at the Main Campus of the institution.
Born on 25th March, 1961, Prof. Ndaeyo holds a Ph.D in Farms Systems and Master’s degree in Agronomy from the premiere University in Nigeria, the University of Ibadan.
He is also an alumnus of the University of Uyo, then University of Cross River State, where he graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Agronomy.
Nyaudo joined the services of the University of Uyo on November 6, 1992 and rose to become Professor in the Department of Crop Science, Faculty of Agriculture.
Ndaeyo, a native of Ini Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, is presently Deputy Vice Chancellor of Administration, University of Uyo.
He is the first Alumnus of the University to be appointed Vice Chancellor of a Federal University in Nigeria. Ndaeyo is married with two children.
