A university lecturer, Professor Umaisha Galadimawa, on Thursday, faulted the decision of the First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari, to order security agents to detain her critic.

It has been reported that the security operatives had allegedly arrested a 23-year-old student of the Federal University, Dutse, Aminu Mohammed, for criticising the First Lady in a post on his Twitter account.

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), on Wednesday, had called on the Department of State Services and the police to release the detained student without delay.

However, Umaisha, a political science lecturer at the Bayero University Kano, noted that as a mother, the wife of the Nigerian president, Mrs Aisha Buhari should be ready for criticism from different angles, adding that it’s through criticisms, she will adjust to some wrongdoings.

He further expressed pain over the continuous detention of the student, who could have reacted due to the pain Nigerians are suffering under the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

“Every human being with sense of belonging know what Nigerians are going through today. If in the event, where even a child in the womb makes unpleasant comment against his/her mother, it’s a lesson and warning for her to make a positive change and impact on the lives of the people,” he said.

According to him, if a child does not cry, as a mother, you won’t know he is hungry, adding that the young student criticised her for her to know that Nigeria is boiling.

He, however, pleaded with the wife of the president to urgently order the release of the student.
