Veteran Journalist, Folu Olamiti honoured by the Anglican Church

A veteran Journalist, Sir Folu Olamiti was on Tuesday honoured by the Chruch of Nigeria Anglican Communion with a certificate of merit for exemplary services to the Abuja Diocese of the Church.

He was among prominent members of the Diocese who were recognized by the Primate of All Nigeria and Bishop of Abuja Diocese, The Most Rev. Henry Ndukuba during a Church service for the consecration of three newly appointed bishops of the Church.

Ndukuba enumerated so many projects and services the awardees had executed or rendered to the Abuja Diocese and prayed to the Almighty God to reward them while at the same time urging them to continue in their service in the Lord’s vineyard.

Olamiti, is the Chairman of the board of the Anglican Cable Network News, the Television Arm of the Media Outfit of the Church of Nigeria.

At the ceremony, a new Archbishop, The Most Rev Abiodun Olaoye for the Ecclesiatical Province of Ibadan was presented by Ndukuba.

Olaoye was elected an Archbishop at the Episcopal Synod of the Church of Nigeria held at the Archbishop Vining Memorial Cathedral, Lagos on July 2nd this year for a five year term.

The three newly consecrated Bishops were: the Rt Rev Ben Ewuchola for Otukpo Diocese of Benue State,  the Rt Rev Prince Christian Chukwudi Anyim, for Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Diocese in Abia State and the Rt Rev Isaac Adeyemi Adeniji for the Diocese of Ilaje in Ondo State.

The consecration and presentation were part of activities of the Church of Nigeria Standing Committee Meeting for 2022 which began on Monday, 12th and billed to end on Friday, 16th of September, 2022.
