Have you been worried lately?
Seeing poverty in its true nakedness around you.
Parents whose heads are too frail;
Children whose legs are too weak;
Youths whose voices are so faint;
Grandmothers and grandfathers whose eye sockets are fragile and more prone to breaking.
All scavenging and slaving in a land
“Full of milk and honey” as they say from time immemorial
But our rulers moved to smile
In their bristling bullet-proof vehicles
Built like a tank, designed like a lounge.
When told of existing hungry people, agony and despair in the land
Wails from famished land

True, we had no clue about their intent apart from a sense of entitlement
Now we know
We know that he is more malignant than the lion
More treacherous than the snake,
More greedy than the wolf
Behind a smiling face and a comic dance
He hides a false heart and an arrogant mind
A true reminder of that biblical evil king that says:

Is leadership not a reflection of followership? Is our inexhaustible greed not to blame?
Absolutely!
When people prefer a false glare to all true radiance
What results is infinitely heartless rulers in a vicious circle
It is not in the stars,
But our greed
