The Northwest coordinator of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU), Comrade Shehu Jabaka Mohammed, said the union has resumed its suspended strike for four weeks following continued neglect of the sub-sector by the Federal Government.

The coordinator disclosed this in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, while briefing newsmen on the outcome of their National Executive Council meeting, (NEC).

According to Comrade Mohammed, the decision followed the end of a 21-day ultimatum issued by the union on the lingering issues of the industrial concern.

Comrade Mohammed further stated that the union invoked the inevitable option of strike action by their members nationwide over the government’s lack of respect for a non-confrontational civil approach to industrial dispute resolution.
