In a statement signed by the State Chairman, Kayode Babayomi, the party alleged widespread irregularities, violence, and intimidation, which marred the electoral process.

According to the AAC, the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OSYIEC) and the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) orchestrated the fraud, which included delays in the distribution of voting materials, misplaced materials, and the mobilization of PDP thugs to intimidate voters.

The party also alleged that security operatives were unduly influenced to disrupt the process.

The AAC claimed that its chairman and other party members were beaten and unlawfully detained, while several of its candidates’ wards were disrupted by PDP thugs.

The party stated that it has documented evidence of the fraudulent acts online, including videos and photos posted by eligible voters who were disappointed by the conduct of the election.

The AAC called for the immediate cancellation of the election results, which it described as not reflecting the will of the people.

The party demanded a new date for a free, fair, and transparent electoral process, warning that the future of democracy in Oyo State depends on the integrity of the electoral system.

“The future of democracy in Oyo State depends on the integrity of our electoral system, and we urge all stakeholders to uphold the principles of democracy.

“We also call for the immediate arrest of the DPO, Sanyo Police Station who was shamelessly caught on camera assaulting our party Chair who was on election duty.

“We will resist this fraud by all means necessary, politically and legally. In the courts and most especially on the streets.”
