Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State has embarked on a restructuring that resulted in the laying-off of some of its academic and non-academic staff
According to the university’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Toba Adaramola, the decision to restructure was taken due to adoption of technology which made some workers redundant as they were no longer needed to perform the duties that had been taken over by technology.

Describing the decision as painful, he said it was necessary to sustain the university. He however explained that the school had taken some steps to provide a soft landing for the affected staff members.
