The Federal Government has appointed Dr John Momoh as the Chairman ad Interim of the University of Lagos Governing Council.
Momoh is the President of the University of Lagos Alumni Association Worldwide.
A Whatsapp message by the Chairman, UNILAG Alumni Association, Lagos State branch, Mr Lukumon Adeoti, forwarded to Alumni members read:

“Our President Worldwide, Dr. John Momoh has been appointed Chairman ad interim of the University of Lagos Governing Council.
“Congrats to All.”
The Federal Government is yet to make any official pronouncement on this appointment.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari had intervened in the crisis in the university following the removal of the vice chancellor by the Governing Council. While the President set up a visitation panel to the university, he asked both the vice chancellor and the Pro-chancellor, Dr Wale Babalakin to recuse themselves, pending investigations. He also directed the Senate of the university to appoint an Acting vice chancellor.
The Senate on Monday appointed Prof. Folashade Ogunsola as the acting vice chancellor of the institution.
