The Kano state Government has described as ‘fake news’, reports that the Governor’s wife, Hafsat was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
It was widely reported on Tuesday that Mrs. Hafsat Ganduje was arrested over a bribery and land fraud case reported by her son.
It was learned that Mrs Ganduje had earlier been invited to report to the EFCC’s Abuja headquarters on September 13 but did not appear and then the commission threatened to arrest her.
The report claimed that Mrs. Ganduje was grilled by EFCC officials and was still at their office as at 6a.m on Tuesday morning.
However, a statement made available to POLITICS NIGERIA signed by the senior special assistant to Governor Ganduje on Social Media, Abubakar Aminu Ibrahim, the report was ‘False’.
